Chris McIntosh ex Data Centre Operational Manager Barclays Bank with 15 year's experience of managing data centres across global environments. As the Operational Manager, he drove the strategy and transformational programme across the EMEA estate (>150 facilities), consolidating small diverse environments into more efficient and easily managed enterprise sites.

Currently based in Scotland with a keen focus on the Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy and Banking/Finance markets, Chris would be delighted to talk to you about any aspect of data centre consolidation and/or migration. In addition, Chris possesses a broad working knowledge of data centre operational management, including 'best practices', 'audit' and/or TCO and energy/financial optimizations regimes.

Chris Horton has over 30 years' experience working in senior roles for some of the world's largest IT and communications providers. Chris spent 14 very successful years at Unisys where he led vertically aligned sales organisations that provided clients with data centre and network design and build services. During this time, as a senior member of the EMEA management team, Chris played a key role in the definition and delivery of Unisys' move from technology based sales to a customer services sales corporation.

Since leaving Unisys in 1996 Chris's career took him to bigger roles in BT, Amdahl and Fujitsu Services, as well as experience-broadening Sales and Marketing Director roles in the satellite communications business and the global outsource division of one of the worlds largest Californian based software companies. In the last 20 years, particularly whilst at Fujitsu, his focus has been on working with global clients to help them define and implement part, or all, of their data centre transformation strategy. Once again, at Fujitsu, he was a key contributor to the creating and marketing of his company's data centre “tower” offering. His approach has been to take a holistic view of his clients' business outcome requirements, translating them into a single, high value, low cost “Total Cost of Compute (TCC)” solution by applying his first-hand understanding of Real Estate, DC Facilities, IT & NW Infrastructure build, service and run costs. More importantly, this approach involves understanding the impact that one facet has on the other when determining the end to end TCC. Using this methodology Chris has worked extensively, particularly with Global Financial Services companies, to help his IT clients achieve technical transformation, DC consolidation and operational improvements. In turn, this has been the key to allow his clients to improve the value of the service that they provide to their internal customers.
